UK lifts sanctions on former Syrian Economy Minister Humam al-Jazairi - ANHA

The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office said in an official notice that it had removed al-Jazairi from the UK’s Syria sanctions list, effective October 6, 2026. The notice said the decision lifted the sanctions imposed on him, including an asset freeze, travel ban and director disqualification, the latter of which was imposed on April 9, 2025. According to official British records, al-Jazairi, born in 1977, served as Syria’s minister of economy and foreign trade.
