Syria and Ukraine expand cooperation on demining

Syria and Ukraine have signed a cooperation agreement on humanitarian mine action as part of efforts to strengthen international partnerships supporting recovery, reconstruction and sustainable development. The agreement was signed by Syrian Civil Defense Director Munir Mustafa and Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Economy and Environment Ihor Bezkaravainyi. It aims to draw on Ukraine’s experience in demining, technical surveying and technologies for contaminated land, particularly agricultural areas.
